Simple mittens

I've been making all kinds of complicated projects lately, with lace and cables and fair isle. So I wanted to make something really easy and quick. These mittens are as simple as they get. No thumb increases, no pattern, just plain knitted mittens. And this also brings out the beautiful colors of the yarn in the best way.

And yes, one is bigger than the other. I always knit the second mitten/sock tighter than the first one. I guess it's because I knit faster once I get going and that makes me pull the yarn tighter, or something... It happens every time!

Really beautiful mittens, what yarn did you use?

Thank's for the comment! :) I used Loft Color by Atelier Zitron for these. It's an absolutely amazing yarn! It's really a felting yarn, but It's also great for knitting things that you don't felt.

I usually have both on needles at once - mainly because I seldom work from a pattern. I "compose" them as I go, and even writing down the pattern rarely produces a second mitt of the same size.
Well, it only works if you own a lot of needles...

Yes, I've been thinking about trying the "Magic Loop" technique, knitting both mittens/socks at once on a circular needle. I guess that would solve my gauge problems...

Oh, these are absolutely gorgeous - I *so* love the colours! I've already made a note to get this yarn one day too, it seems to be really amazing, even for things that aren't felted!

Hienot värit lapasissasi!

Minulla on neuletiheyden suhteen sama ongelma - toinen kappale on aina jonkun verran tiukempi, vaikka yrittäisin keskittyä löysäämään.
