Finished Lainesukat

Yay, I finished my Lainesukat in a record breaking 3 days! Don't know how that happened. I guess it's because I really liked knitting them or something... I did have some difficulties with the pattern, especially after the heel, when the pattern only runs on top of the foot. But still, the pattern was great fun! And I didn't really like the color of the yarn at first, because I thought it was too... well boring, but it really grew on me and now I love the color!

I love those socks. They are so unique! I am so bummed that I don't speak finnish, but I may be able to use the lace pattern and "invent" the pattern again! Beautiful photos!

Yes, I don't think it would be impossible to use the chart, add a heel and a toe, and come up with pretty much the same thing. The pattern goes around the leg, and on top of the foot. The sole is just knit, and the toe decreases are continue from the increases on the foot, but on every needle, i.e. also under the foot. I used 4 pattern repeats on top of the foot and had just 2 knit repeats as the sole, but I think it would be even better to have 3 x 11 knit stitches as the sole, and 3 x pattern repeats on top of the foot... The sole is kind of thin with only 2 x 11 stitches...
